COIMBATORE: Sleuths of the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) seized Rs 1.93lakh unaccounted money from the Singanallur sub-registrar's office on Thursday and booked two sub-registrars for bribery.
The DVAC sleuths conducted a search at the Singanallur sub-registrar's office on Thursday morning. They searched the rooms of sub-registrars Ragothaman and Jesintha. They found Rs 1.93lakh unaccounted money in the rooms of the two sub-registrars. DVAC sleuths registered a case against the sub-registrars and began an investigation.
On Wednesday, DVAC sleuths arrested Muthusamy, the panchayat secretary of Kondaiyampalayam village in Coimbatore district, for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a man for regularising unapproved house plots.
