Two historysheeters to be booked under Goondas’ Act

COIMBATORE: City police have detained two repeat offenders, P Vasudevan (31) and S Syed Usman (43) under Goondas Act on Tuesday.
Both of them have multiple cases against them. Vasudevan is presently under custody for criminal intimidation of a person with a weapon near LIC Colony bus stop. The incident occurred in August and he was immediately arrested by the police.Syed Usman is reportedly a ganja peddler and was arrested with 1.1 kg of ganja from Sundarapuram.
City police commissioner Amaresh Pujari has warned that he would invoke the Goondas Act against those selling and possessing marijuana. So far, the police have booked 22 persons under the Goondas Act.
