Two boys drown in Ralliah Dam

UDHAGAMANDALAM: Two boys drowned while taking bath in Ralliah Dam in Coonoor here on Thursday. The deceased were identified as J Clement Alex, 17 and C Raghuvaran, 14, both residents of Kambisolai area in Gandhi Nagar in Coonoor taluk.
According to the police, the two, along with three other boys, went to the Ralliah Dam for fishing. Clement Alex and Raghuvaran, meanwhile, entered the dam to take bath, both got stuck in the swamp.“On seeing them battling for life, the remaining three rushed to their village to alert their parents. However, the two drowned by the time the villagers reached the spot,” a police officer said.
