The accused were identified as S Sasikumar, 31, and Sundar Raj, 30, both residents of

Manachanallur

in Trichy. Sasikumar, police said, was a

service engineer

with a private concern, while Sundar Raj was owner of the private concern.

According to police, the duo had approached the private cotton mill near Puthupalayam for spinning mill spare parts on a contract basis to be used at their concern in Trichy in early 2017. “The mill authorities agreed and spare parts were given to them for a period ending January 2018.”

As the duo did not return the spare parts after the contract period, the cotton mill’s human resource manager R Mathankumar, 27, attempted to reach them several times, but in vain. He subsequently lodged a complaint with the Annur police on Tuesday.

Police booked a case against the duo under Section 380 (theft in dwelling house) of the

Indian Penal Code

and launched a probe into it.
