TNAU foundation day

Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) celebrated its 53rd foundation day on Friday. Collector Kranti Kumar Pati and TNAU vice-chancellor V Geethalakshmi took part in the celebrations.
TNAU marked the occasion by recognising researchers, agricultural extension officials and employees who have put in long years of service for the university. A total of 105 officials and employees who have served 25 years, two drivers who have served 20 years and one driver who has served for 10 years were recognised for their services.
Addressing participants, the collector urged that the university focus more on developing agriculture-based startups. He said agricultural development is the foundation of our country, because of which it is important to develop agriculture and related activities.
The vice-chancellor in her address said the university is developing an online market to help farmers access TNAU’s products required for agriculture through a mobile app.
