Tiruchengode truck driver dies in suspicious circumstances in AP
Namakkal: P Senthil Kumar, a 46-year-old rig truck driver from Velanampatty near Tiruchengode in Namakkal district, died under suspicious circumstances in Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh on April 20. On Tuesday, his relatives protested outside the residence of the rig service owner with his body demanding justice.
Senthil Kumar’s wife Savitha, 42, told reporters that he had been working as a driver for a borewell company for 17 years and travelled to Pulivendula in Kadappa district for work on April 18. He was found dead under suspicious circumstances on April 20.
S Mani, the borewell company owner, informed Savitha about his death. He took her to Andhra Pradesh where she oversaw the postmortem. The body was sent back home on the night of April 21. Relatives, upon learning of his death, expressed doubts about the circumstances and protested at Mani's house, demanding justice.
Namakkal district additional superintendent of police Shanmugam and Tiruchengode sub-divisional DSP Srinivasan arrived at the spot to negotiate with the protesters. The family dispersed after being assured that proper action would follow if any errors were found in the postmortem report.
