TimesPro launches its 21st centre in Coimbatore

COIMBATORE: TimesPro, an educational subsidiary of the Times of India Group launched its 21st centre in the city on Wednesday. Bharathiar University vice-chancellor James Pitchai G and Rajesh Kachroo, business head, TimesPro, inaugurated the centre.
Simultaneously, a TimesPro centre was opened in Chennai too. TimesPro was launched around 18months ago to impart skill-based education to graduates.The centres in Chennai and Coimbatore would offer postgraduate diploma courses in banking management, business analytics and finance & accounts, and a two-year distributed MBA course.
Rajesh Kachroo, business head, TimesPro said, “Tamil Nadu is one of the largest centres of higher education in India, but there are very few institutes that offer courses specialization in business, banking training, finance and analytics. Many students travel to neighbouring states for higher studies.”
TimePro would offer these courses for a period of six months. The fees for the postgraduate diploma in banking management is 95,000. Graduates in any field could apply for this course through an online exam, followed by an interview. According to Rajesh Kachroo, every month a new batch of students would be admitted. “The classes would be organized every alternate day for four hours,” said Kachroo.
The faculty would be full-time teachers who have worked with industries and companies and have been involved in training employees for banking, finance and management sectors. “After five months, we would invite companies we have tied up with to recruit students,” said Kachroo. TimePro has tied up with HDFC Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Yes Bank, Bajaj Capital, IndusInd Bank and Edelweiss in Tamil Nadu.
