Three people were arrested on Saturday for hurling a petrol bomb at a house belonging to A Muneeswaran, 27, from Amman Nagar near Pappanaickenpalayam here on October 2.

COIMBATORE: Three people were arrested on Saturday for hurling a petrol bomb at a house belonging to A Muneeswaran, 27, from Amman Nagar near Pappanaickenpalayam here on October 2.
The arrested persons have been identified as F Jose, 27, from Erimedu near Ammankulam, D Vinod, 27, from Ammankulam and U Abilash, 24, from Puliyakulam. Jose and Vinod are previous offenders, facing a murder case in Ramanathapuram police limits while Abilash is an accused in an attempt to murder case in Race Course police limits.

Police said, Marudhachalam, an autorickshaw driver from Amman Nagar had fought with Jayakumar two weeks ago. The trio had witnessed the fight which soon developed into a group clash. The trio had supported one group and decided to attack Marudhachalam's house with petrol bombs.
On the night of October 2, the trio who were in an inebriated state, threw a petrol bomb at a house, thinking that it belonged to Marudhachalam. But the house belonged to driver Muneeswaran. Another petrol bomb was found near the house. Race course police registered a case and conducted inquiry.
On Friday evening, the police arrested the three accused and they have been lodged at Coimbatore central prison.
