Tamil outfit leaders arrested for social media post against Karnataka
ERODE: The Erode town police arrested two men on charges of posting social media contents intended to cause interstate conflicts between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.The arrested men have been identified as K Silambarasan, 32, and M Abdul Malik, 21, of Mamarathupalayam in Erode.

Silambarasan is the founder of an organisation called the Indian Democratic League that claims to be fighting for the rights of Tamil people. Police said Silambarasan had spoken about damaging the Hindi nameboards of restaurants on national highways. Recently, he posted his views on the Cauvery water issue on social media platforms and spoke against the Karnataka govt. He stated that Karnataka-registered vehicles should be damaged.Police noticed the posts and arrested Silambarasan and organisation’s propaganda secretary, Abdul Malik, on Sunday night and remanded them in judicial custody.
