police arrested the owner and supervisor of the pool on Tuesday. Meanwhile, the district administration sealed the swimming pool.

On Monday, P Anbuselvan, 16, of Indira Nagar at Vadavalli and M Devaraj, 58 of Teachers Colony, had drowned in the swimming pool.

Anbu Selvan was a Class XI student of a private school at Kalveerampalayam, while Devaraj was a security guard at the swimming pool.

The boy’s father C Periyasamy lodged a complaint with the Vadavalli police, saying the pool was not having any safety measures and its owner hadn’t even appointed an instructor.

Based on the complaint, police registered a case against the owner of the Marudham swimming pool, R Vasudean, 30, of

Anna Nagar

in Marudhamalai, and its supervisor C Natarajan, 60, of Vedapatti and arrested them. They were later remanded in judicial custody and lodged in jail.
