Stray dog bites boy, woman near Hosur

KRISHNAGIRI: In two separate incidents, a stray dog attacked a boy and a woman near Hosur in Krishnagiri district on Friday. The boy sustained severe injuries on his head, requiring 40 sutures.

The injured boy has been identified as E Ram Charan, 8, a Class III student in a govt school. He resided at Dasanapuram with his father Easwar, 30, a construction worker, his mother Mamta, 25, and siblings.

After returning home from school, Ramcharan went to play in the neighbourhood with another boy. A stray dog emerged from a nearby poultry farm and began chasing the boys. The dog attacked Ram Charan, inflicting serious wounds on his head, back, ear, nose and chin. The boy, who was bleeding profusely, was rescued by residents. They rushed him to the Hosur Government Hospital for immediate medical attention.

In the second incident, A Muthulakshmi, 25, an employee at a private bank in Hosur, was attacked by the same stray dog. She suffered injuries on her leg and was rushed to government hospital.

The residents urged the municipal authorities to capture the aggressive stray dog and implement measures to control the stray dog menace in the area.
