Tamil Nadu: M K Stalin to inaugurate agricultural trade fair

COIMBATORE: Chief minister M K Stalin will inaugurate the 20th edition of Agri Intex, 2022, an agricultural trade fair organised by Codissia Intec Technology Centre, here on Friday. The four-day fair is organised after a gap of two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Minister for agriculture and farmers’ welfare M R K Panneerselvam and electricity minister V Senthil Balaji will also take part in the event.
Addressing reporters here on Monday, chairman of Agri Intex-2022 N Krishnaraj said the fair organisers have issued free entry passes for more than eight lakh farmers. Stating that representatives from Israel, Japan, Germany and Italy would participate in the event, Krishnaraj said the fair will give special focus to solar pumping, micro-irrigation, soilless agriculture, automation, value addition and animal husbandry.
Tamil Nadu Agricultural University vice-chancellor V Geethalakshmi said the university was drafting the standard operating procedures for using drones in agriculture.
