Special camps to curb stray dog menace

Coimbatore: The city corporation will conduct special camps from Friday to tackle stray dog menace.As many as 45 camps will be conducted in all wards in the city during the 15 day-drive, corporation commissioner M Prathap said. “Neutering is being carried out with the help of NGOs Prani Mithran and Humane Animal Society. While Prani Mithran is working in the east, south and central zones, Humane Animal Society is working in the north and west zones. Three dog catching vehicles have been allotted to them,” he said, “Stray dogs will be caught and given anti-rabies vaccine in the camps. Sterilisation will also be carried out.
