Salem: The Super Kings Academy, established by
Chennai Super Kings, will start functioning here from April 6.
The academy aims to produce cricketers from small towns and get them to play in state and national teams, cricketer
Arun Karthik told reporters here on Thursday. He called upon interested youth to join the academy and enrich their skills.
The academy has a stadium of international standards, spread across 16 acres, equipped with floodlit ground with turf and practice pitches, player pavilion and media centre.
The academy will have experienced BCCI-certified coaches.
A statement from Chennai Super Kings said that registration is open. There will be counselling session at Salem Cricket Foundation in Vazhapadi on March 19 for those in the age group of 6–16 years. For those in the age group of 17–23 years, there will be a selection camp on March 20 between 7am and 10am.
