Ruhaan, Tijil steal the show on Day 2
Coimbatore: Ruhaan Alva (MSport) and Tijil Rao (Dark Don Racing) won a race each in the premier LGB Formula 4 class of the JK Tyre FMSCI National Racing Championship at the Kari Motor Speedway here on Sunday.
In the opening race, Bengaluru’s Ruhaan stamped his class with a stunning final-lap victory. Arya Singh (Dark Don Racing) dominated for the most part but Ruhaan played catch up well and kept searching for space to sneak in.

He managed to find one in the final lap and crossed the line.
In the second race, Tijil did one better than the rest to clinch the thriller. With the reverse grid in play, Saran Vikram Tmars (Mars Racing) stayed in the lead for a good five laps, after which Ruhaan overtook him and was primed for victory. But the latter spun out of the race eventually, giving a chance for Diljith (Dark Don) and Tijil to battle it out for the victory. Young Tijil overtook in the 13th lap and end on a high.
In the JK Tyre Novice Cup, Momentum Motorsports’ Neythan McPherson from Pune staved off a stiff challenge from Aman Nagdev (MSport) to come out on top. Aman and Neythan’s teammate Arjun S Nair finished second and third respectively. In the second race, Joel Joseph (DTS Racing) came out victorious.
