Nine injured as govt bus overturns near Morappur
ClearedDharmapuri: A govt bus overturned at Chennampatty near Morappur in the district on Sunday, injuring nine people, including a pregnant woman.According to police, the accident took place when the govt was heading to Harur from Dharmapuri with 70 passengers on board. “When the bus reached Chennampatty, its driver lost control over the vehicle, which then overturned,” a police officer said.Locals promptly rescued all passengers, and alerted the Morappur police, who also joined the rescue operations. “Seven passengers, along with the bus driver and conductor, were injured in the accident,” the officer said.The injured were rushed to the govt primary health centre at Morappur and the govt hospital at Harur. The condition of the injured is said to be stable.The Morappur police have registered a case and initiated a probe into the accident.
