Salem: A 40-year-old woman here is on a quest to find her husband, who went missing two weeks ago.

S Palaniammal of Muthampatty

in

Vazhapadi

has been searching for

B Sivaraman

in an autorickshaw from April 8.
The 45-year-old man used to earn a living by helping applicants with the paper work in front of the tahsildar’s office at Vazhapadi,

Palaniammal

told TOI. “He was not well and suffered some memory loss. He used to even forget the approach road to our house.”
Sivaraman had left for the tahsildar’s office on April 7, despite Palaniammal’s warnings. “He didn’t return. I lodged a complaint with the Vazhapadi police the next day. They registered a missing case and initiated inquiry.”
Not satisfied with the police inquiry, Palaniammal decided to take things into her own hands. “Police had no clue as to his whereabouts. So, I started to search for my husband. A man in the village, who owns an autorickshaw, agreed to help me,” she said.
Palaniammal made posters containing details of

Sivaraman

and his photo, and pasted them on the autorickshaw. She also uses a public addressing system to seek help of villagers.
“I hand out flyers to people and ask them to inform me if they find him. The owner of the autorickshaw is gracious enough to help me. Sometimes, he would spend money from his own pocket for fuel,” she said. “I will not stop searching until my husband is found.”
