Mumbai cops arrest man who supplies skimmers

Coimbatore: A team of Mumbai city crime branch on Tuesday detained C Ramesh, 31, of Kamatchipuram, for allegedly supplying skimmer devices to various people across the country to steal debit and credit card data. The team is likely to conduct a raid at his house on Wednesday.
Police said Ramesh used to purchase skimmer devices online and sell them to various people in the country.Cyber-crime cell of the city police had traced his involvement in skimmer device supply and his whereabouts. “They attempted to nab Ramesh more than a week ago. But some police officers did not show interest and foiled the bid,” an official source said.
Meanwhile, the Mumbai city crime branch traced the whereabouts of Ramesh and detained him with the help of the Singanallur police on Tuesday.
The source said senior police officers are likely to conduct an inquiry with the city cyber-crime cell on postponing the arrest of Ramesh for more than a week.
