COIMBATORE: The Race Course police on Friday registered a case against two unidentified people for hurling stones at a recreation club at Pappanaickenpalayam.
According to a police officer, the club was set up by S Ashwinkumar, 31, of Chetti Street. “While it was set up with proper permission, some residents and political outfits were aginst the club.” The officer said Ashwinkumar was planning to inaugurate the club on Friday, “Around 10.30pm on Thursday, two bike-borne men hurled stones at the club. Four windowpanes were damaged in the incident. They returned at 12.30 am on Friday and again threw stones at the club.”
Based on Ashwinkumar's complaint, the Race Course police registered a case under Section 3 of Tamil Nadu Property (Prevention of Damage and Loss) Act on Friday evening. Further investigation is on.
