COIMBATORE: Maoist C Veeramani, 72, of Rayanallur in Cuddalore district, arrested by Q Branch-CID police in May 2015, came out of the Coimbatore Central Prison on MOnday evening after getting conditional bail.
Veeramani said those who raised questions against the government are immediately sent to jail and speaking further would end up in an encounter by the government.
" This is today's democracy," he added.
"I follow Maoism, and this is my fundamental right. The government is afraid of Maoism. Properties of big shots should be handed over to the poor people who are severely affected due to Covid-19," said Veeramani.
He added that the police weren't not allowing him to speak with the media nor anyone. "This is police's ruling," said Veeramani.
As he came out on conditional bail, Veeramani attempted to speak with reporters. However, Race Course police inspector Sakthivel did not allow him to speak to anyone and sent him along with his lawyer in an autorickshaw.
Q Branch CID police, intelligence section officials, Intelligence Bureau officials and intelligence officials from the special task force were present at the central prison main gate.
