Man stabbed to death in Namakkal

Namakkal: A weaver was tragically killed when attempting to break a fight between his friend and another man near Rasipuram in Namakkal district late on Friday night.The deceased has been identified as S Karthikeyan, 45, of Singalandapuram.Around 10pm on Friday, an altercation broke out between K Radhakrishnan, 44, and R Sundarrajan, 43, both from Singalandapuram. Karthikeyan, who was Radhakrishnan's friend, intervened and attempted to break the fight. "However, Sundarrajan suddenly stabbed Karthikeyan on his chest and neck," said an officer from Belukurichi police station. He was rushed to a hospital but died on the way. Meanwhile, Sundarrajan fled from the scene. Preliminary investigation revealed that Radhakrishnan and Sundarrajan had a long-standing personal feud dating to over ten years. Belukurichi police have registered a case and a hunt is on for the accused who is absconding.
