Man dies by suicide after suffering losses in online trading
SALEM: A 40-year-old man died by suicide in Dharmapuri district after losing Rs 35 lakh in online trading, Kolathur police said.The deceased has been identified as K Narayanan of Pennagaram. Narayanan, who ran a shop in the area, is survived by his wife, Tamil, 32, a 13-year-old daughter and a six-year-old son.Police said Narayanan left home on a two-wheeler on Wednesday, telling his family that he was going to his shop. "On Wednesday evening, his wife tried to contact him over phone. But there was no response. She alerted his friend, Vadivel. Vadivel searched for him and found him dead on agricultural land in Kolathur around 10.30pm. Narayanan had consumed poison,” a police officer said. Police recovered his body and sent it to Mettur Government Hospital for postmortem.A case was registered.
