Male dentist arrested for assaulting female dentist in Hosur

KRISHNAGIRI: The Hosur Hudco police in Krishnagiri district arrested a male dentist on charges of attacking a female dentist who works in his dental clinic in Pathalapalli area. Anbuchelvan, 38, assaulted the 25-year-old female dentist on Sunday night when she refused his proposal to marry her.

Anbuchelvan met her on Sunday evening and persuaded her to marry him. She refused his proposal. He then took her to his dental clinic on a two-wheeler. When they reached the clinic, he tried to persuade her again.

"When the female doctor refused, he seized her mobile phone and chain. He then assaulted her. People present there intervened," said an officer at the Hosur Hudco police station.

Later, the female dentist’s mother took her to the Hosur Government Hospital as she had suffered injuries in the attack. On receiving information, the Hosur town police initiated an investigation. Since the incident occurred in the jurisdiction of the Hosur Hudco police station, they instructed her to file a complaint there. The female dentist lodged a complaint with the Hosur Hudco police who registered a case and arrested the Anbuchelvan.

Initial inquiries revealed that Anbuchelvan, who had been married, had separated from his wife.
