Tirupur: Two guest workers from Odisha were arrested on Monday, for murdering their colleague in a drunken brawl near Semmandampalayam in Tirupur district, on Sunday night.
The arrested were identified as K Gyanrajan Mahakud, 22, from Balangir in Odisha, and G Chandan Barik, 27, from Subarnapur in Odisha.

Police said the deceased S Amit Nag, 26, of Balangir, was working along with the two accused at a private textile mill in Semmandampalayam near Kunnathur in Tirupur district. All three were staying together in a room on the mill premises.
Investigation revealed that on Sunday night, the trio consumed liquor together, shortly after which a quarrel broke out between them. During the altercation, Mahakud and Barik stabbed Amit with a liquor bottle, killing him on the spot.
"The duo later dragged the body to a toilet and left it there. However, a few employees spotted them dumping the body in the toilet and alerted us," said a police officer from Kunnathur station.
Police recovered the body and sent it to the Tirupur Medical College Hospital for a postmortem.
Meanwhile, a case was registered, and the two accused have been remanded in judicial custody.
