Gudalur MLA seeks Jaya's help to resume e-services in taluks
Udhagamandalam: The Gudalur MLA, M Thiravidamani, on Wednesday wrote to the state chief minister, J Jayalalithaa, and the chief secretary P Rama Mohana Rao seeking their intervention to resume the suspended E-services in Gudalur and Pandalur taluks in the Nilgiris.
According to him, e-services pertaining to chitta, adangal (transfer of land ownership documents in the revenue department) and community certificate have been suspended in these two taluks a month ago.
In his letter addressed to CM, the DMK man stated that E-services, including community certificate, chitta and adangal have been suspended a month ago in Gudalur and Pandalur taluks causing inconvenience to the public.
He has sought her to fix the issue to facilitate public. He further pointed out that the government has yet to address the issues of Janmam lands in both the taluks and the lands falling under Tamil Nadu Preservation of Private Forest Act.
However, speaking to TOI, Nilgiris collector P Sankar said, "There are six taluks in the Nilgiris. While land records have been updated and computerised in four taluks such as Ooty, Coonoor, Kotagiri and Kundha, the other two taluks, Gudalur and Pandalur are on an offline mode."
According to Sankar, all the land records have been computerised and all land-related certificates and online service are available as e-services in the four taluks. But in Gudalur and Pandalur taluks, though land records have been computerised, due to technical snag they remain offline.
"But public can get their relevant certificates from the concern taluk offices. The technical snag will be addressed accordingly within a week," the collector said adding, "Once the link between the local servers and the central server is connected uploading will be done consequently."
