COIMBATORE: Burglars decamped with 34 sovereigns of gold jewellery and 3 lakh from a businessman’s house at
Singanallur
on Sunday.
Houseowner S Amarnath Singh of Angammal Layout at Anna Nagar in Neelikonampalayam, who owns a lathe workshop, had locked the house and left for a friend’s house at Pappampatti with his family on Saturday evening. They returned at 1.30pm on Sunday to find the front door lock broke open and the valuables missing.
Amarnath alerted the Singanallur investigation wing police. A police team led by inspector
M Vinothkumar
and sub-inspector K Karthikeyan inspected the house. A sniffer dog ran for a few metres from the house before losing scent trail. Fingerprint bureau sub-inspectors and forensic experts also inspected the crime scene.TNN
