Coimbatore: Four people died in two different road accidents at Thudiyalur and Sirumugai in Coimbatore district on Friday night.
The first accident claimed the lives of R Rohit, 18, of Idayarpalayam, who was a student at a private college here, and V Sudharsan, 22, of Pannimadai, who worked in a private firm near Sarvanampatti.
Rohit took his friend's car, picked up Sudharsan and drove towards Pannimadai. When they reached SRP Nagar near Vadamadurai in Thudiyalur, Rohit lost control of the car. The vehicle hit a roadside tree. Both died on the spot.
In the second accident, two men died and another man suffered injuries when the motorcycle they were riding triple on hit a car near Sirumugai. C Bharathi, 25, and S Ramasamy, 35, died while C Sakthivel suffered injuries.
The accident happened when the trio were travelling from Vellikuppampalayam to Sirumugai. Bharathi died on the spot while the other two were sent to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital where Ramasamy died in the early hours on Saturday. Sakthivel is undergoing treatment.
