Farmer electrocuted

A 58-year-old farmer was electrocuted after he touched a live wire accidently in his farm at Kadambur tribal village near Sathyamangalam on Wednesday evening. The deceased has been identified as R Krishnan, of Pasuvanapuram village. He owned two acres of farmland .

Erode: A 58-year-old farmer was electrocuted after he touched a live wire accidently in his farm at Kadambur tribal village near Sathyamangalam on Wednesday evening.
The deceased has been identified as R Krishnan, of Pasuvanapuram village. He owned two acres of farmland .
On Wednesday evening, Krishnan went to his farm to irrigate the sorghum crops with water.

“When he entered the farm, he touched a live wire accidently that was fenced to deter elephants from entering the farm,” an officer with Kadambur police station said.
Fellow villagers rushed him to a nearby primary health centre for treatment but the doctors at the centre confirmed that he was brought dead.
The body was sent to the government hospital in Sathyamangalam for postmortem.
A case was registered by the Kadambur police and further inquiry is on.
