Fake vigilance officer arrested in TN
Namakkal: A man was arrested in Namakkal on Friday on charges of posing as a vigilance officer. The arrested man has been identified as N Sasikumar, 42, from Trichy district. On Friday, when real estate businessman K Dharanitharan reached the Namakkal sub-registrar office for land registration, Sasikumar approached him pretending to be a vigilance officer and questioned him about the purpose of his visit.Dharanitharan, who became suspicious, informed the Namakkal vigilance office. Vigilance inspector Prabhu nabbed the man, conducted an inquiry and informed the Namakkal police. Police inquiries revealed that Sasikumar, an engineering graduate, had cheated some people by posing as a vigilance or an income tax officer. Six months ago, Sasikumar had gone to Dharanitharan’s office, introduced himself as an income tax officer and inquired about the real estate business. Sasikumar is facing a case for threatening a village administrative officer in Trichy district.
