EPS questions Congress staying in DMK alliance or not at Salem Pongal event

SALEM: AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami said at a Pongal function held near Mecheri in Salem dist on Thursday that the question has arisen as to whether the Congress will remain in the DMK alliance or not. "Congress, which is a part of the DMK, is about to slip out, and repeated that the question has arisen whether the Congress will remain in the DMK alliance or not," he questioned.

Further added AIADMK is a strong alliance and that a winning alliance will definitely win in the upcoming assembly general elections and form the AIADMK govt. "As far as the AIADMK is concerned, it implemented many projects after the demise of MGR and Jayalalithaa. People are expecting when the AIADMK will remove the DMK from power," he said.




Lauding the union govt and the PM, EPS said a strong govt is being run in the middle and that Modi is working well as the best Prime Minister in the world. He hoped, “We will soon hoist the flag of victory.”

He lamented govt employees, teachers and nurses are involved in protests, and that Tamil Nadu is becoming a battleground for protests and protests. He said the entire people have come to a point of boycotting. Similarly, the circulation of cannabis and drugs increased in Tamil Nadu and that law and order is in a state of disarray. He said the DGP for Law and Order was not yet appointed.

Earlier, Palaniswami arrived at the festival, travelled in a bullock cart. Party executives and volunteers welcomed by showering flowers. He expressed happiness that Pongal was earlier celebrated only in villages but people are now celebrating it in cities as well, and added that 65 per cent of the people depend on agriculture for their livelihood.

He then watched the Valli Gummi dance, Urimmiyattam, Therukkoothu and horse dances at the festival, and presented prizes to the Jallikattu bulls displayed there.
