DMK woman suspended

Coimbatore: Days after DMK’s women’s wing deputy secretary Meena Jayakumar levelled charges on former DMk MLA N Karthik of scuttling her chances of becoming a councillor, she has been suspended from the party.
A statement from DMK general secretary Duraimurugan issued on Sunday said she has been suspended from the primary membership as well as other posts she held in the party since she violated regulations and acted in a manner bringing disrepute to the party.Meena Jayakumar was touted as probable mayor candidate of DMK before the announcement of the local body polls. However, she was not even given ticket to contest for the post of councillor. tnn
