DMK urges corpn to relay bad roads

Coimbatore: DMK workers led by Singanallur MLA N Karthik met city corporation commissioner Sravan Kumar and urged him to relay bad roads.

Karthik gave a list of wards spread across the city where the condition of roads are pathetic. He said there was utter neglect of these wards and that even garbage was not collected regularly leaving mounds of waste piling up.

The DMK, which has been organising a series of protests demanding better amenities and infrastructure, has charged that the drains in several localities were clogged leading to mosquito breeding. “Storm water drains are not just clogged but are also damaged,’’ Karthik alleged. He submitted petitions written by residents of these localities to the corporation commissioner highlighting the poor civic infrastructure. tnn
