DMK - Congress alliance losing its way, says EPS
Erode: Hitting out at the DMK for repeatedly terming AIADMK as a `slave of BJP,' AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami said on Sunday it was the DMK, which was a slave to Congress.``AIADMK always stood on its own. Our party is full of hardworking people and youth. We are neither slaves to anyone nor the branch of any other party,'' EPS said at a public meeting in Bhavanisagar in Erode district. "DMK has been a slave of Congress. DMK was holding alliance talks with Congress even when there was a raid on the first floor of DMK headquarters,'' EPS said. Still, chief minister M K Stalin was indulging in a false propaganda that AIADMK was subservient to BJP, he charged.
EPS said AIADMK has formed a strong alliance, and alleged that the alliance led by Stalin was `losing its way.' He said DMK and Congress were in a war of words every day and it was doubtful whether the DMK-Congress alliance would continue. He alleged that ``if there was a chief minister in the history of Tamil Nadu who lied constantly, banking on publicity to govern, it was Stalin.'' ``All that he does are only photoshoots, while TN people are deprived of good governance,'' he said.‘`Stalin became the CM because of his father, while I worked hard and rose gradually,'' EPS said he had dared Stalin for a debate on achievements of the DMK and AIADMK govts, but there was no response.EPS said all the sectors in Tamil Nadu including agriculture flourished under the AIADMK regime. "Our party saved the state by providing drought relief, waived off cooperative crop loans twice, ensured farmers got 24-hour three-phase electricity," he said.He then announced that cooperative bank loans taken by street vendors would be waived once AIADMK comes to power.
