Tirupur: The Odisha Migration Support Centre has advised the people, who migrated from the coastal state, not to visit their native place as the situation was worse due to cyclone Fani.
More than 50,000 people from Odisha, including about 8,000 trained by the state-run migration support center, are working in Tirupur and Coimbatore districts.
“We have contacted senior authorities in Odisha and were told that the transportation and the electricity supply have been affected severely. The remote areas lack connectivity. We wanted to alert the migrants who were living in this part of the country,” said N Ramasamy, in-charge of the centre.
