Couple arrested for duping ponzi scheme investor of Rs 6.80 lakh

Coimbatore: The Economic Offences Wing sleuths arrested a couple on Saturday evening for duping an investor of their ponzi scheme of Rs 6.80 lakh and seized from them two cars. Police suspect that the couple might have cheated more than 1,000 investors of Rs 100 crore. The arrested were identified as S Sathishkumar, 38, and his wife S Gunavathi, 36, of Ramalingam Nagar at Saibaba Colony. An investigation officer said the couple were running Dream Makers Global (DGM) Pvt Ltd at the same locality. “They promised Rs 100 every day for 150 days for the people who invested Rs 6,000, which would be used for online trading, in the firm. They announced 12 such schemes in total,” the officer said.TNN
