Corpn to interview engineers

Coimbatore: Corporation commissioner Raja Gopal Sunkara will conduct an interview for engineers at corporation’s main building in Town Hall on May 16 for their registration under the corporation.
Only sketches given by engineers registered with the corporation will be accepted by the town planning officials for construction of new buildings.
An official said applicants should appear in person with original documents. They should be well versed with building rules and regulations.
At present, there are more than 500 registered engineers with the city corporation.
Meanwhile, registered engineers urged the corporation to furnish their contact details along with a photograph on its website. They said that the public were finding it difficult to get information about registered engineers in their neighbourhood. When the public approach the town planning department, officials there direct them to a select few engineers who were known to them, a group of registered engineers said. tnn
