Salem: Two men lodged a complaint with the Kolathur police in the district against Swami

for possessing a statue of Lord Siva statue belonging to Jalagandeswarar temple near Pannavadi.

In a video released on social media, the controversial godman claimed that the temple on the Cauvery path was built by him in his earlier birth and the statue of Jalagandeswarar was in his possession now.

Velusamy and Sakthivel of Palavadi village near Kolathur had filed the complaint against Nithyananda.

Speaking to reporters, Velusamy and Sakthivel said Jalagandeswarar temple was a historical one and the nandhi statue would be seen when the water level in Mettur dam was below 50ft.

“We were under the impression that the Jalagandeswarar statue was washed away in the water current. But, now we have come to know that the statue is in the possession of Nithyananda,” they said.

Police should act to retrieve the statue from Nithyananda at the earliest, the men demanded.
