COIMBATORE: Coimbatore recorded a voter turnout of 38.62% as of 11 am in the Tamil Nadu assembly elections on Thursday.
According to Election Commission data, Kavundampalayam and Sulur led voter participation, while Coimbatore North and Valparai reported a comparatively slower turnout.
Constituency-wise turnout figures are as follows: Kavundampalayam 41.99%, Sulur 40.54%, Kinathukadavu 39.16%, Pollachi 38.76%, Singanallur 38.59%, Thondamuthur 38.41%, Mettuppalayam 37.90%, Coimbatore South 37.03%, Valparai 35.25%, and Coimbatore North 35.07%.
Kavundampalayam emerged as the most active constituency in the district, crossing the 40% mark before noon.
Polling will continue until the evening, and election officials have urged voters to visit their designated booths with valid identification.
