CM announces Rs 1L solatium to families of drowned kids

: Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Saturday has announced a solatium of Rs 1 lakh for the families of four children who drowned in a pond at

Mettur

on December 18.

In a statement, Palaniswami extend his grief to the family members. “I grieved for the children after hearing the drowning news,” he said.

Four children including B Manikandan, D Raja, D Tamilalagan and M Mohanraj were drowned in a pond near

Stanley Reservoir

at Mettur in Salem district on the last Sunday evening. The incident came to light on Monday after one of the deceased body was found floating in the pond.
