DHARMAPURI: The BJP-led central govt has done nothing for Tamil Nadu, deputy chief minister Udhayanidhi Stalin said on Tuesday. He urged voters to reject the AIADMK-BJP alliance and vote for DMK candidates in the April 23 assembly election.Udhayanidhi was campaigning for DMK candidates P Palaniappan (Pappireddipatti) Dr DNV Senthil Kumar (Palacode) and A Shanmugam (Harur) in Dharmapuri district.

Udhayanidhi said, "If DMK returns to power, several welfare measures will be implemented or expanded.”He pointed to DMK’s poll promises that the breakfast scheme would be extended to cover govt school students studying up to Class VIII, old-age pension would be raised from Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,500 and homemakers would receive coupons worth Rs 8,000 for household appliances like televisions, refrigerators and washing machines.
