Acid attack victim dies
Coimbatore: A woman who was attacked with acid by her husband at the combined court complex here, died without responding to treatment at the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH) on Friday, 37 days after the incident. S Kavitha, 35, of Mahalakshmi Nagar at Kannampalayam near Sulur, had separated from her husband a few months back. On March 23, she was at the combined court complex in the city to attend court proceedings in connection with a theft case. Kavitha was sitting in the waiting hall when her husband P Sivakumar, a truck driver, threw a bottle filled with acid on her. She suffered more than 80% burns and was admitted to CMCH.
