Coimbatore: Miscreants broke open the glass window of a sports utility vehicle (SUV) parked at the district collectorate here and made away with a bag containing 6 lakh on Tuesday.
Police said although CCTV cameras have been installed at the collectorate, they didn't have recording facilities.
The victim was identified as K Ramasamy, 48, of Poomalur village near Palladam in Tirupur district.

He was a realtor. He owned powerloom unit too.
On Tuesday, Ramasamy visited the city in an SUV and parked it at the collectorate office. He had gone to the registration department to pay 6 lakh for land registration. He was asked to get a challan from the district treasury office. Ramasamy left his bag containing money in the car and went to the treasury office.
When Ramasamy returned to his vehicle, he found that one window was broken and his bag was missing.
He immediately alerted the Race Course police, who visited the spot and held inquiries. Race Course (crime) police inspector P Mohanraj has registered a case.
