3 from Kerala die in car accident in Anaimalai

COIMBATORE: Three people from Kerala died after a speeding car in which they were travelling dashed against a motorbike before ramming into a tree at Ganapathipalayam near Anaimalai on Sunday evening. Three more people who were travelling in the car escaped with injuries while a couple and their son riding on the motorbike suffered injuries.

The deceased were identified as John Paul, 33, of

Irinjalakuda

, Jobby Thomas, 30, of Kombanad and Sijju, 33, of Edapally in Kerala. While John Paul was working as a manager in Federal Bank at Irinjalakuda, Jobby Thomas was a clerk in Federal Bank’s Kombanadu branch, Sijju was working as assistant manager of Giojith Company at Edapally.

The trio was travelling along with K Abilash, 30, of

Ernakulam

, P Binoy, 32 of Ernakulam, and G Binu John, 37, of Thirussur, in a car. Binoy drove the car. They were heading towards

Thrissur

from

Pollachi

. When the car reached near Ganapathipalayam, Binoy lost control of the vehicle and dashed against a motorcycle.

A Tamil Selvan, 33, was riding the motorcycle with his wife Banu Priya, 32, and son Mithran, 2, as pillion riders. The couple

hail

from Kottur Malayandipatyinam. When the car dashed their two-wheeler, all the three were thrown off and suffered injuries. They were admitted in a private hospital in Pollachi.

Later, the car came to a halt after ramming a tree. While the driver of the car and two others escaped with minor injuries as air bags in the car opened when it rammed the tree, John Paul, Jobby Thomas and Sijju died on the spot.

The Anaimalai police rushed to the spot and sent the three bodies to the Pollachi Government Hospital for postmortem.

The Anaimalai police have registered a case and further investigation is on.
