2 burglars arrested

Coimbatore: The rural police arrested two burglars on Tuesday and seized 28 sovereigns of gold ornaments and a moped from them.
They were identified as S Manikandan of Thendral Nagar at Kadhir Mill in Ondipudur and M Saravanan of Annai Sathya Nagar, Ondipudur.
The duo had targeted the house of K Duraisamy of Balaji Nagar in Malumichampatti on June 18.“He used to keep gold in the house to pledge or sell whenever he had to pay the education fee of his daughter, a medical student. The duo broke into the house and looted two gold chains, a necklace and a pair of bangles,” a police officer said.
The miscreants were involved in several burglaries in Chettipalayam police limit, police sources said. TNN
