Coimbatore: Prohibition enforcement wing of the rural police conducted a raid at a restaurant in Sulur and seized 188 bottles of liquor that were stored there illegally and arrested three people. The value of seized liquor is pegged at more than Rs 1 lakh.
Based on a tip, a prohibition enforcement wing team searched the workers’ room of Ozone restaurant in Sulur on Sunday and found 115 bottles of military liquor, 30 bottles of Puducherry liquor, 28 bottles of Tasmac beer and 25 bottles of Tasmac liquor.
Preliminary inquiry revealed that the restaurant workers V Sai Prakash, 45, of SIHS Colony at Singanallur, P Saravanan, 42, of Ottanchatram in Dindigul district, and Kutty of Sulur, used to sell liquor at high prices in black market. They were later arrested. tnn
