CHENNAI: Four youths and a travel agent, who allegedly cheated two of them with the promise of jobs abroad and collected Rs 1.5 lakh, have all landed in the police net in an unusual incident. The youths had kidnapped the agent, thrashed him and got back the paid sum after the promised jobs proved elusive. The agent later kidnapped one of the youths to avenge the crime.
The truth came out when the youth abducted by the agent lodged a complaint with the Royapettah police on Saturday.
According to the police, Gokul Krishnan of Kilpauk promised Varun and Ravi employment abroad and got `1.5 lakh from them. But he didn't do anything to arrange for the jobs.

Varun and Ravi then kidnapped Gokul Krishnan with the help of two other friends two months ago, took him to Madurai, locked him up and beat him. They released him only after he paid up. On Saturday, Gokul kidnapped Varun and attacked him to avenge their abduction.
After being released, Varun approached the Royapettah police and filed a complaint saying Gokul had kidnapped him. Later, Gokul also filed a complaint saying he had been kidnapped earlier and money taken away from him.
