North police on Friday arrested a 23-year-old man for sharing an offensive image of
Prime Minister
Narendra Modi on Facebook.
M Prabakaran shared the offensive image on Facebook and invited his FB friends to give a suitable title for it.
Based on the complaint given by BJP Tirupur North district president R Chinnasamy, the police booked him under Section 67 of the Information Technology Act, 2000.
The accused is working as a machine operator at a private company near Veerapandi.
Though he has shared images of a political leader on Facebook at least thrice, the police could not confirm that he was a member of that leader's party.
