CHENNAI: Which video game beat Angry Birds, the highest downloaded game, at a global competition? Not many would guess that it was ComicsHead, a game developed by a Chennai-based animation company.
The firm was co-founded nearly two decades ago by P R Jayashree. One of the five women achievers from the city shared their journey to the top at an event organsied by Womenspire, a forum bringing women from myriad fields together to inspire one and another, Jayashree said, “When our foreign clients met us, they told us we were the best kept secret.” She was surprised that she was tracked down by the organisers as her company never had a marketing strategy.

Two of the other achievers are Guinness record holders and another is a campaigner of the ‘Dark is Beautiful’ campaign. None, however, is a celebrity.
The common thread running through all their journeys is that they repeatedly found inspiration at different stages to keep them going. “It’s a blessing to be in a profession that you absolutelky love doing,” said young violin prodigy Aathira Krishnan who holds the record for the longest violin recital.
