Tamil Nadu woman murders husband by pouring hot water on him

RANIPET: A 39-year-old woman was arrested on Friday on charges of murdering her husband by pouring hot water on him while he was sleeping in their house in a village near Ranipet.

Police said the woman, identified as S Amaravathi, was enraged because her husband, S Suresh, 48, had scolded her for speaking to several men over the mobile phone. Suresh was a daily wage earner.

Amaravathi was irked by her husband’s persistent demand to stop talking to them. The couple quarrelled over the issue on Dec 18.

The woman boiled water and poured it on him while he was asleep. He sustained severe burn injuries and was admitted to a govt hospital, where he died in the early hours of Friday.
