Woman injured in gang attack dies in hospital

Chennai: Two days after an eight-member gang hacked a history-sheeter and his wife at New Washermenpet, the woman died at a govt hospital on Thursday. The rowdy, Ulaganathan, 33, died on the way to the hospital on Tuesday night.
Police have arrested seven people in connection with the double murder.
Police said Malathi, 30, was in a live-in relationship with Ulaganathan since 2018. While Ulaganathan used to sell ganja in an autorickshaw, Malathi was supplying ganja in the neighbourhood.
Ulaganathan, was involved in 22 criminal cases and Malathi in half a dozen cases.
The Kasimedu fishing harbour police registered a case.
